Feeding (Food preferences) models
Some toxics can affect the feeding and foraging behavior in C. elegans . A method consists of the use of agar with round holes located equidistant from the center of the dish. Each hole is filled with bacterial suspension in K medium. Toxic solutions are placed in different holes, and nematodes are inoculated in the center of the plate. The number of nematodes in the interior of each hole is counted at various intervals of time. This test shows whether the test nematodes try to avoid contaminated food or they are attracted to some food.
