About us

The Active Vision research line is integrated into the research group on Robotics (GRob) of the Instituto de Automática e Informática Industrial (ai2) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). GRob has been working for more than 20 years on the study, analysis and development of basic and applied research covering aspects such as vision, robotics, mechatronics, control and automation.

Among the more specific fields of research of the group we can mention: (1) design of control systems and architectures; (2) development and implementation of robotized controllers; (3) force control and visual servoing control; (4) detection and avoidance of collisions; (5) robot trajectory planning; (6) task planning, robot programming and simulation; (7) use of specific sensing and artificial vision; (8) navigation and sensorial localization in robotics; (9) grasping and last but not least (10) active vision.

The main objective of this research line is to develop and transfer intelligent active vision systems into the society.
This group is coordinated by Dr. Antonio Sánchez, professor at the Department of Systems Engineering and Automation (DISA) of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).
